Union County Elementary was a selected
school to participate in the free “hands-on science lab” that the TVA
Science Kids program brings to select schools across the TVA service
area. Water samples were brought
from Lake Nottely for 5th grade students to test for water
quality. Students used the scientific method to collect, record, and
interpret data. Students concluded that Lake Nottely can support aquatic
life after they performed experiments on the
water temperature, turbidity, pH, and dissolved oxygen and received
A+’s on all tests. To see the results, access
